Re: Out-of-Phase click
So as I use repair, I am thinking the whole time: mmm, I wonder if I could use what I am learning about what a click looks like to write the code to find them automatically? You could but is it worth the effort when you can get Brians Davies' ClickRepair for $40? :) IIRC SteveTF had a bash at a cli...

Re: Deleting files; Record level meters
As Koz says - but if each of your "First recording" second recording" etc. are single stereo pair track recorings and not multitrack - then as Koz implies you will be much better off exporting thoses recordings as WAV files (export at 32-bit floating - with Audacity set to that qulait...

Re: timing capability needed
the bug doesn't destroy the project (but it does eat disk space!). With windows XP when I get this bug I have to use Windows Task Manage to kill the Audacity application. Then when I restart Audacity the autorecovery (1.3.x needed) works fine - just produces a long project which requires some seriou...

Re: Installation
... I've completed one project so far, including tape-transport noise reduction, which I think has come out rather well, although it did take about 5 hours to process a 90 minute, 23 track, tape. I had to repeat several processes but I should get quicker at it. I'm neither a software- nor a sound-e...

Re: Can hear noise but no visible change in the waveform
Don't worry about Koz' curmudgeonly tone (he lists curmudgeon as his profession in his Audacity profile :) ) All he is pointing out is that if one user finds that on their one machine behaviour that no-one else gets or reports, then it's hard to get the developers to pay attention to it - when sevra...

Re: Meters say input but no sound
... I just now was checking the settings so I could respond to you properly and I looked under the microphone icon where there's a pop-down menu and there a selection called "Start Monitoring" and I thought, "Whuh?" So I selected it. Suddenly the platter I had spinning on the ta...

The developers moved it to the Transport menu (just to keep us on out toes

Re: timing capability needed
It's already there in 1.3.x - use Shift+T or access Timer Record... from the Transport menu Just be aware that it is afflicted by a bug whic occurs very infrequently and which the developers can't track down (a "moonphase" bug) - whereby it sometimes doesn't honour the finish time and just...

Re: Deleting files; Record level meters
why are the record level meters suddenly missing? (XP, 1.2.6) In 1.2 - go to Edit > Preferences and click on the Interface tab. Make sure the tickbox for Enable Meter Toolbar is checked on. You should think about using 1.3.11 the latest Beta vn. it is very stable these days and has improved functio...
