Re: New Vinyl Getting Skips
I'm getting a hiss and a rumble from the pre-amp. If that is the case then the pre-amp is faulty and needs to be repaired or replaced. However, rumble is far more likely to come from playing badly set up turntables or warped LPs - and hiss os often the result of surface noise on the vinyl. How do y...

Re: New Vinyl Getting Skips
The sound is excellent like you said. But its not coming across in the recording. I'm still not clear what you are trying to say. Are you saying that Audacity is getting no signal? Are you seein the bouncing meters and the blue waveforms? Might just get a high end USB Turntable. Prosser And that mi...

Re: Recording
You should consider moving to 1.3. Despite the fact that it is Beta - it is a pretty mature Beta and is in fact more stable than the officially "stable" 1.2.6 on many modern computing platforms. Plus you get a lot of new and improved functionality - (1.3.12 is due to hit the streets soon)....

BTW label handling is much better in 1.3.x - you should consider moving to 1.3. Despite the fact that it is Beta - it is a pretty mature Beta and is in fact more stable than the officially "stable" 1.2.6 on many modern computing platforms. You can get 1.3 from here: http://audacityteam.org...

Re: Need a way to convert MP3s to WAVs in automated batch mo
Why on earth would you want or need to do this?
Once a file has been compressed to MP3 it has the compression damage burned-in forever - converting it to WAV will not add back any quality - it will just make the file around ten times larger.

Re: Recording
And note that there are limits to the length/size of WAV/MP3/whatever audio files that other software and music players can handle.
