I just downloaded the software yesterday and am remastering some old cassette tapes to MP3. Unfortunately, I cannot figure out how to use this software effectively. I'm trying to filter out some of the background noise coming from the original recording. Can someone help me with this? I cannot find...

I thought that was a useful idea.

In Audacity 2.4.2 there is now a new command to reset your Audacity settings

Tools > Reset Configuration

I don't think you can. But I can see it might make sense that a new track could be added just beneath the currently selected tracks. We are discussing similar right now for Mix and Render and Duplicate - I have added this suggestion to that discussion email thread. We did fix this for Mix and Rende...
