Re: 12-second audio files
As Koz says ... When you save an Audacity project as <project_name> it creates a number of things 1. a top level master project file called <project_name>.aup 2. a folder at the same filing level called <project_name>_data 3. and within the folder a sub-folder structure with lots of little .au files...

Re: Exporting to variable bit rate
He's not really being <<<defensive/aggressive>>> he's just being his normal curmudgeonly (and entertaining) self - look at his Audacity profile and you will see that Koz lists his profession as Curmudgeon :) The reference to the Normalize and "old wounds" refers to an older and long, agoni...

Re: Date of tracks/recordings
Audaciity doesn't do this - but a workaround would be to change the track-name so that it contains the date/time of recording.
Click on the little black downward pointing triangle in the track v=control box at the lefy of the track to change the trackname.

The "Track name" can be found in the toip of the trqack control box at the left of the track. Inless you have renamed it, it is likely to be named "Audio Track" - click on the downward pointing little black triangle to the right of the track name - click on "Select Sample Fo...

Re: Using Audacity with a digidesign mini mbox
Worth a try - should work. I would use Audacity 1.3.12 rather than 1.2 - you can get it from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ These topics from the manual and Wiki may help you: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Recording_with_USB_turntables http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/USB_...

Re: Can't find USB Audio CODEC
You would normally expect a device like this toi work with the USB drivers supplied with Windows - but this you appear to have a problem with. Does Lennox supply their own drivers - if so can you download their driver for your TT? Do you have any other USB devices plugged in? WC And BTW you should r...

Re: splitting a file into units for video
Once you have selected and "Copied" the clip should be in your paste buffer - and the Paste command should no longer be greyed out - and you should bne able to paste the clip int to old track - or create a new track and paste it in.

Re: splitting a file into units for video
You need to have some audio selected in order for most of the commands to operate - with nothing selected thay will be greyed out. You may be wanting to export a set of WAV or MP3 files - you can use labels and Export Multiple - see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=FAQ:Opening_and_Sav...
