Re: Input volume only in left speaker

Have you set your Audacity to record in stereo 2-channel - by default 1.2.x is set to mono.

Just go to Edit > Preferences and select the Audio I/O tab. In the box markked Recording you will see where you can set Channels.

Re: Timer recording does not want to stop !

Hi Gale, my afternoon recording - 70 mins 2pm to 15:10 - stopped and started at the right times. I will continue to use 1.3.13 especially for my timed recordings and will monitor. Do I remember seeing an email on devel recently where someone was proposing a different method for measuring the elapsed...

Re: Saving Audacity Data Files

I have transcribed all my LPs - like you I have these all on my iPods in AAC 192 format with a few MP3s from when I started out the conversion. As Koz suggests I regard these purely as the delivery frormats for use. I have kept all the WAV files as archive backups - two copies, I have two separate e...

Gale Andrews wrote:@Peter: Would you like me to send you a build of 1.3.13 against 2.8.11 to try out?
Yup I'd be happy to test Timed recordings on that if you can get a 1.3.13 build to me.

Re: Timer recording does not want to stop !

This trial let me think that straddling midday (or midnight) is not the only reason which can make the Audacity timer going mad... Yup, that midnight-straddle was just an early conjecture as to what might be causing it. Another thought that I have had was whether I had pre-saved an empty project be...

It was easy - but it's only ever easy when you know how ... :)

Glad that fixed it for you - and don't worry, it catches a lot of folk out.

Re: Listing useful programs other than Audacity

There is already a page that exists on the Wiki for collecting such data, as Gale has already referenced above in this thread - see: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Other_Specific_Tasks @whomper: if you would like to gather together the notes of additional useful pieces of s/w that relate to Audac...

Re: Update playhead location

Use Shift+A - this will stop the playback and leave the cursor at the current playback position.

Turn off the Snap To - see bottom left of the Audacity window.
