Re: Project instability in 1.3

For me 1.3.12 is the best ever Audacity - it hasn't crashed on me yet- the only problem I get is the Timer Record overrun (seemingly fixed by Nikolay's patch for Alpha 1.3.13 - he says touching wood frantically ). Like Steve, I keep Audacity open all day for LP transcriptions. I never save a project...

Re: Excessive Static with the Use of USB PhonoPlus V.2

Charlie, yes, I saw that yesterday when I was looking at the ART site - but as I said, in an earlier post in this thread, I personally prefer to monitor in software via Audacity's software playthrough - as that way I get what Audacity is getting rather than the signal from earlier in the recording c...

Re: WAV Audio Electronic Glitches

With this experiment Koz is trying to determine if it is the playback which is causing the glitches - or whether it is in the recording process. He has supplied you with a set of known clean WAV files to test playback - if those all play ok then we can assume that the problem lies in the recording p...

Re: Excessive Static with the Use of USB PhonoPlus V.2

Hey Guys, I just made a minor but very interesting discovery. I had a connection established between the "Phono Line Out" on the back of the PhonoPlus V.2 into an "Aux In" on the back of my stereo amplifier so that I could listen (Monitor) while I was recording. Out of curiosity...

Re: Excessive Static with the Use of USB PhonoPlus V.2

@Charlie: also I've just noticed in your manifest - Brain Davies' ClickRepair software. An excellent piece of s/w IMHO - see this sticky thread (if you haven't already found it yourself :) ) : http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1994

Re: Excessive Static with the Use of USB PhonoPlus V.2

The other variable in play here is the ability to either run the PhonoPlus from USB power or via an external power supply. Charlie, do you get different amounts of static noise depending which of these you use? Also, as mentioned earlier in the thread make sure that you TT is properly grounded to th...
