Re: "Not Responding" with 'Fit Project' or 'Zoom Out' button

Just clicking the "Skip to End" button doesn't make a selection. Do you mean you held SHIFT and clicked that button? There is no point trying to replicate this until I'm clear about the steps you took. Yes I do mean that I held Shift+”Skip to end” – sorry I wasn’t more accurate but I was ...

Re: putting together recording from temporary (.au) files

When you save an Audacity project as <project_name> it creates a number of things 1. a top level master project file called <project_name>.aup 2. a folder at the same filing level called <project_name>_data 3. and within the folder a sub-folder structure with lots of little .au files - segments of t...

Re: "Not Responding" with 'Fit Project' or 'Zoom Out' button

in trying to make a 1:02 project to test I took a 1 hour 45 minute recent recording at normal zoom level, positioned the cursor at 1:02 and tried selecting from cursor position to end. 5 to 6 minutes later I abandoned this as the selection was still not made (and thus the deletion of the unwanted a...

Re: track markers won't move with edit

Depends which version of 1.3 you are using - this functionality came and went a bit - it works ok in the latest Beta 1.3.12.

You will need to select both the audio track and the same section of the label track by ckicking and dragging.

Re: Stop & then continue recording?

In which case he can slide the second track along the timeline with the time-shift tool so it starts just after the end of the first track.

Re: Stop & then continue recording?

Just Pause in Audacity at the end of side-1, set up side-2 to rexcord and then press the Pause button again - Audacity will continue recording. In Audacity 1.3 you can Stop the recording after side-1 and later use the Record Append (new function in 1.3) to record after the end of side-1 on the same ...

Re: "Not Responding" with 'Fit Project' or 'Zoom Out' button

I'd be interested if anyone could test with 1.3.8 on Windows ... Just done a test on my XP-HE-SP3 system with two equal length projects of 1 hour 2 minutes duration. On 1.3.8 (Unicode) the Zoom Fit To Project took 26 seconds On 1.3.12 the second project took 37 seconds Interestingly in trying to ma...

Re: listening while recording

You also need to set your Audacity Recording Preferences to enable "Sooftware Playthrough" - it is normally off by default.

Re: "Not Responding" with 'Fit Project' or 'Zoom Out' button

When you record a new track so you only see 10 seconds of audio, Is it true that having fitted the project, there is then no further delay zooming in and out? That's my experience. I believe the problem is similar if you import a track, so that it fits the project, then zoom in. I find the first zo...
