Yes he certainly does - and very well too.

Mrs. WC and I recently to a gig of his and saw him play his fiddle - and a great night out it was too :)

Re: Corrupt Audacity file + Audacity no longer works

Thanks for the reply. But, the audacity project is 37 audio clips, each about 4seconds long. If i export multiple i get 37 separate files. How can i open all 37 in audacity (sequentiality)? (With out opening 37 audacity windows) When you save an Audacity project as <project_name> it creates a numbe...

Export it to WAV (preferrably 32-biy float if you are using Audacity's default project settings) - and the import the WAV in Audacity on yor Vista machine.

Re: How to move tracks along the time line?

You need the Time Shift tool - its icon is the little square button with a black horizontal arrow with arow heads at each end. See this page from the manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Tools_Toolbar Be sure to reselect the Selection tool (the I-beam) after you have finished with ...

Re: DROP MARKER like sonic foundry

As Steve says you can use Ctrl+M to mark the current play/record position while playing or recording.

You can also similarly place labels at a cursor position while recording or playing - by placing your cursor and then typing Ctrl+B

Re: Input Overload, Slider not available

Depending on a the soundcard & driver you may get an icon to access it's driver controls in the System Tray (Bottom right hand corner of your Windows screen). Or you may be able to manage it through the Control Panel > Sounds & Audio Devices . But you may not - it's different on both my PCs ...

Re: Track Tags: can you move them or delete them?

Labels are quite hard to manage in 1.2.x - the latest Beta 1.3.12 has much improved label handling-. It is now a ptretty mature Beta - and for most folks it is a better bet than the now ancient 1.2.6.

You can get 1.3.12 from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/

Re: seperating tracks from lps

You need to set the level for the whole LP before you commit to the recording, try finding the loudest parts (with experience you can larnto spot these on the LP surface) - or review the whole album side. It is reasonable to assume that the engineers have set a level for thw whole album. Record so t...

Re: seperating tracks from lps

What sort of editing do you want to do?

And when you say you have separated them, do you mean that you have labellled up the tracks in an Audacity project - or have you already used export multiple to create a set of WAV files (one part LP track)?

There are a load of Audacity tutorials on the web - not provided by Audacity team - some are good some are iffy.

See this page from the Audacity Wiki for links: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Categ ... on_the_web
