Re: Brian Davies DeNoise help needed--Waxcylinder??
I just looked at the ClickRepair dialogs and noticed that if you choose "default 78" in the dropdown list and then make the choices WC suggests above, that the "default 78" choice is over-ridden and the dropdown shows only --------. This is obviously by design and shows that the...

Re: Defining Songs.
Correctamundo. In 1.2 there is no such setting, but in 1.3.x there is. Don't worry about the Beta labelling of 1.3 - the 1.3 series is now a pretty mature Beta and 1.3.12 is probably the best Audacity yet, usually far more stable on most modern environments that the officially "stable" 1.2...

Re: CD wont work on sterio it will on computer
You are almost certainly creating a "data CD" rather than a "music CD" - see this article from the Manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... es_to_a_CD

Re: Brian Davies DeNoise help needed--Waxcylinder??
I have been through the manual you mentioned with a fine toothed comb… We like people that actually read manuals … :) My offhand opinion at this point, after playing with DeNoise, DeNoise LF, and ClickRepair is that the latter may be the only one preferable to Audacity. I suspect that this may be a...

Re: Microphone Sensitivity Issues
It's not Audacity - it's likely to be a setting on your soundcard for handling the mic. Try turning off any fancy settings that sometimes come as a default with sound devices.

Re: input volume slider pegs to zero
Some ION turntables have a gain control (volume knob) to control the level of the output signal. The one that i used to have did, but is was in an inconvenient and non-obvious place - located underneath at the back where the cables exit the device.

Re: Brian Davies DeNoise help needed--Waxcylinder??
I don't have a license for DeNoise (only for ClickRepair). I did experiment a while back with DeNoise (under its 21-day free-trial) when I was digitizing an old blues compilation LP that had been transcribed from 78s to the vinyl. I don't recall having to select any samples for noise reduction, just...
