Re: Project Sample Rates - what about the ADC?

And this led to me going back to my touchstone recording - Sonny Rollin's "The Bridge" album track 1 "Without a song". I had this on vinyl for many years on vinyl, but sadly lost it through divorce. So I had to replace it with a CD - and this is a truly excellent example of remas...

Re: Project Sample Rates - what about the ADC?

I was a vinyl lover - and thought I'd spurn new-fangled CDs possibley forever. But then back in '84 a photographer friend of mine who did an album photo shoot with Sir Simon Rattle - told me that he had concerted to CDs and was absolutely delighted with them. I thought if that's good enough for some...

It's also possible that you may have turned on Multi-view
That's not applicable to Audacity 2.3.3.
OOPS - didn't spot that

Re: Lost waveform view

Click on the track name or the little downward pointing black triangle at the top of the Track Control Panel and select Waveform. It's also possible that you may have turned on Multi-view - if so you will need to turn that off. Please see: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/audio_track_dropdown_men...

Re: Project Sample Rates - what about the ADC?

Not to start an endless audiophile debate but I am not sure I agree that CD quality is good enough for LP copies. I have material in both and have very good playback hardware for both media. The LPs almost always sound better than their commercial CDs. I have also heard demos of 24/96 copies that A...

Re: v.2.3.0 macros STILL export all 24-bit WAV as 16-bit!!!

I just tested this and it works fine. You can't set the bitrate in the Macro - the WAV export uses the last-used bit-rate setting - so if you export a 24-but WAV first then run your Mancr that should work. You need the use the "Export2" Macro command and specify a .wav extension. This is t...

I have logged these as: 1) "Export as WAV does not remember the previously used setting" - see: https://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2062 2) "Impossible to use Macros to Export 24-bit or 32-bit WAV files" - see: https://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2063...

Re: Reducing "hollow" sound in recording

Oh indeed they would, as would quilted bedspreads, tapestries or carpet scraps. Basically anything to damp the reflections off the hard surfaces. In these lockdown times I "go" to a weekly on-line folk gig from the couple's home. Last week (just for a change of scenery on their part) they ...
