Re: Testers needed for Mac 1.3.13 Alpha to resolve bug fixes
... yes the shortcut was set to CMD-M ... Bruno, actually there are two shortcuts to help you: 1) CMD-M (or CTRL+M in Windows-land) which places a label at the current playback or recording position 2) CMD-B (or CTRL+B in Windows-land) which places a label at the current cursor position WC

Re: Youtube: record what you hear or extract audio after sav
ignatz, I use your method 1 - just because it is reasonably straighforward. My desktop PC is configured with my external soundcard for vinyl/tape transfers and FM oof-air capture - my laptap is configured to record what plays on the PC (e.g. from t'interweb). As Steve says the audio quality on Youtu...

Re: ClickRepair compression
Yup thanks for letting us know - and thanks for fessing up, it takes a brave person to admit mistakes ... And it's not just our forum, it's your forum too - this is a community of like-minded people and a relative sane corner of cyber-space by and large. You're polite and informative and we hope you...

Re: Turntable Feature for listening without recording
You can make it play without recording by turning on monitoring. This is not an obvious feature to find, but simply click once in the playback meter box (clicking a second time will turn it off again). We have asked the developers many times to make this more obvious, and to make "on" the ...

Re: ClickRepair compression
... I am beginning to suspect that my problem is that I am still using Windows XP instead of Vista... I doubt that very much. Both the PCs that I use for Audacity and ClickRepair are XP systems one XP-HE and t'other XP-PRO - amd both produce consistently excellent results with no damage to the ster...

Re: Amplify vs Normalize parameters
Yup Bill, curiously as you were writing I was doing a similar test with my 60 secs of Sgt Pepper. I made the left track of the original and the left track that had been ClickRepaired to make stereo pair and then used Audacity's "Vocal Removal" effect - and this left just the clicks, confir...

Re: ClickRepair compression
I have not seen anyone on these blogs notice the clear compression that ClickRepair renders on any recording. I removed pitch control and reverse, I used simple method and I only used Declick level no. 1... and I still heard the same compression on my track: the stereo separation effect was noticea...

Re: Vinyl To WAV and MP3 Album & Tracks
harry, if you think you might need really big storage note that Martin Brennan can fit much bigger disks than those advertised on his website. When I last spoke to him he told me that he could put in a 1TB or 1.5TB disk (at a higher price of course). My "jukebox" is currently my 160gb iPod...
