Re: Delete between labels
<<<so this thread should only be trimmed, not deleted>>> Noted, and accordingly I've made it a sticky thread here in the FR section. We could instead move it to Audio Processing for retention in the forum, but that I think would render your reference in the Wiki incorrect Gale? - Peter 5Sep10. Movi...

Re: Importance of recording Levels
Yes, I like to record hot... I think the brief single sample clipping 7 times within twenty minutes is inaudible and really OK... My real worry is if I am clipping the pops, maybe I am not leaving room for the loudest possible dynamic in the music. So I factor in whether the pops are being clipped;...

Re: Audacity saved files not numbered like most, can't compi
In 1.3 the recovery mechanism normally works auto-magically - I figure that if it is broken sufficiently that Auto-recovery doesn't work then you are probably stuffed - and then, as Steve says, it's back to re-recording. It certianly does work when it can; I've had to restore projects (on Win XP adm...

Ignatz,
do you realize that you can enlarge your meter toolbar to make it more useful - just click and drag on it at the bottom left of the toolbar - I have mine stretched across the whole width of my Audacity window.
Note that 1.3 will "remember" the setting - 1.2 will not.

Re: Plectrum Clicks
I'm not sure if it's appropriate as a feature request, but it would be great to see Gnome Wave Cleaner made into a plug-in for Audacity (though perhaps not so great for Brian). But as you point out Steve GWC is a Linux only piece of s/w - not so great for those of us runnining Windows PCs or MACs. ...

Re: Distortion and skipping
When I converted my minidiscs I wanted to avoid going digital to analog and then back to digital again. This is one of the reasons that I purchased the Edirol UA-1EX soundcard (http://www.roland.com/products/en/UA-1EX/) as it has a digital input (1/8" phone type S/PDIF optical in & out) thi...

So my next suggestion is to reset your Preferences - see this aricle in the Wiki: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Audacity_Preferences

Re: Different Hz and/or float???
No, you will have both 1.2 and 1.3 on your PC - which is ok. You can't run both versions at the same time however. (You can delete the 1.2 if you no longer need it.) And note carefully that 1.2 projects can be opened in 1.3 but not the other way around - and if you open a 1.2 project in 1.3 and then...
