Re: Audio Signal Peaks Out For No Reason
Some (but not all) ION USB TTs have a gain control knob. It is usually fitted in a very unobvious and un-ergonomic place, underneath at the back next to where the cables exit. It is a little knurled knob. If yours does not have one of these then you may be able to control the signal level via the Wi...

Re: backing up project
Audacity Projects backed up in this way will work, provided that the backup copy is perfect. There is no "fault tolerance" so if there is even a tiny failure in the backup CD, the entire project can be lost. A much safer way to backup important recordings is to Export the tracks as WAV fi...

Re: loud recording volume
When you connect a USB device like this Audacity normally hands control over the sound services to the USB device and hence the Audacity sliders will not be operable. If you have no gain control on the TT then you may be able to control the signal level via the Windows system mixer. See this section...

Re: clock tiles for sync-lock visually confusing
I know the devs are reluctant to use colour except when absolutely necessary. I would say this is one of those times. +1 I think that the reluctance is mostly because reliance on a colour change as an indicator is not accessible for people that are colour blind - however, as this is just changing t...

Re: clock tiles for sync-lock visually confusing
And I do hope they get around, before 2.0 release, to fixing the problem that was recently identified of Sync-Lock remaining on for the next project if turned on in the current one. We discussed that recently on the "Adding Features To Audacity" - in fact I transferred it to the Wiki "...

Re: clock tiles for sync-lock visually confusing
There may be a tiny bit of contention amongst the Development Team about the visual aspects of Sync-Lock and as it is not scheduled for 2.0 anyway... Yes there has indeed been a fair bit of discussion on the devel list about the visualapsects (and the behaviour) of Sync-Lock. I thoght that they had...

Re: Strange bass emphasis in recording of vinyl record
Just a thought: your Kenwood TT does not by any chance to change the output between line and phono settings? I.e does it have it's own internal pre-amplifier? If so if you can either set it to Line out put (which would use the internal pe-amp) - or set it to Phono and use the Pioner amp. From what y...
