Re: Propagating Forum discussions to "decision-makers"

I can offer no real solution - but I would like to highlight two of the problem areas: ====================================================== I was concerned to read on the mailing lists this week that Vaughan had very poor visibility of changes in the Wiki (You and I Gale gave him some suggestions ...

Re: unsuccessful import from GarageBand

What exactly is AAC and why is it better than MP3? AAC is Apple's compressed format. It is generally reckoned to give better audio quality than MP3 for the same compression rates and filesizes (this diffenec declines when less compression is used - i.e higher bitrates) MP3 has the key advantage tha...

Re: clock tiles for sync-lock visually confusing

And I do hope they get around, before 2.0 release, to fixing the problem that was recently identified of Sync-Lock remaining on for the next project if turned on in the current one. Can you explain a bit more why this is a problem, Peter? If as a power user I had turned Sync-Lock on, I think I woul...

Re: What is wrong with this signal?

Select the Remove DC Offset box under the "Normalize" effect. However, this will also change your overall levels since you're normalizing at the same time. No ... since it is possible in the Normalize function to select DC Offset without doing any normalization. Crazy but true: I do wish ...

Re: ringtones (iphone)

See http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Making_Ringtones This will tell you how to make the ringtones - I suspect (from a discussion I had with an iPhone owning friend that I had earlier this week) that you may struggle getting the ringtone onto your iPhone. Apple seem to have tried to close it off so...

Re: Cassette tape to computer

Just to expand a bit on Koz' response ... When you save an Audacity project as <project_name> it creates a number of things 1. a top level master project file called <project_name>.aup 2. a folder at the same filing level called <project_name>_data 3. and within the folder a sub-folder structure wit...

Re: loud recording volume

... the volume control is greyed out as per first attachment. It odesn't look greyed out to me - but I suspect that you will not be able to move the input contol off the minimum level that it is set at. If you can move it I suspect that it will just snap back to its current minimum setting (this is...

Re: Audio Signal Peaks Out For No Reason

But if it's working right most of the time with only occsional mis-function -then it may be a poor USB connection. You are plugging direct to a USB port on the PC and not using a hub - right? Try a different USB port on the PC if you have one - or gently wiggle the USB plug in its socked - or unplug...
