Re: Audacity doesnt play randomly... 1.3.12
BTW also note that your signal is way over-saturated (i.e. too loud). Your screenshot shows that you are getting clippimg, whewre the blue waveform hits-the-buffers at the 1.0 level - recording so thatyou peak at around the 0.5 to 0.6 level will befine. You can always use the Amplify effect as your ...

Re: Real beginner stuff
I use the Edirol UA-1EX which does a similar excellent job to the UCA 202 - but it does have an a gain control to manage the signal level - that's the key reason that I chose the Edirol over the UCA 202. Re: USB mics
No worries - apology appreciated though
Actually it's not the double-posters that bother us most - it's the tidal waves of spam. The clean-up team of elves spends a fair while every day getting rid of the garbage (some of it with dangerous links).

To8oT: please do not double post - it is considered very bad form on anty internet forum. It only wastes people's time, annoys them and doesn't get your question answered any quicker. I have removed your duplicate post. There have been many discussion threads on this topic on the forum particularly ...

Re: Moving Selection Lengths - and - Recording in Sync
You really should to try to free up some more disk space. Get yourself an external USB disk (or better still get two so you can have backup copies too) and archive off onto the external disk all those files you use or need infrequently - actually can be frequent files too as you can work with files ...

Re: input device
Whether you can or not depends entirely on your PC, its soundcard and the associated drivers. May modern PCs seem to have this facility removed (presumably in a bid to thwart piracy).

Re: Noise tests on my audio recording setup
I have added a new piece of kit into my recording chain. As I record from multiple input sources I was getting fed up with continually re-plugging the RCA leads from my USB soundcard to my various input devices – plus I was conscious that this will lead to degradation of the plugs/leads over time.
