You can get quite big thumb drives these days. And you can get (relatively cheaply) portable 0.5TB & 1TB pocket USB disks - of a size that easily fits in a jacket pocket. it seems that for me it is not good enough to relay on auto saving, but I must always manually backup work in progress. It was literally the last click on the edited podcasts when the audacity crashed ( after a full day of working on it). Not just for you - it's something we all should do regularly...
