Re: Why re-compress unchanged audio tracks
Yes, but the poster did go on to say that he was using <<compressed to squeeze several church services onto a thumb drive 'cause my laptop is getting full>>. Hence the bigger external drive suggestion :) And yes, I like Iomega drives too. I have one of their 1TB desktop USB disks (my wife has two, b...

Re: Why re-compress unchanged audio tracks
You can get quite big thumb drives these days. And you can get (relatively cheaply) portable 0.5TB & 1TB pocket USB disks - of a size that easily fits in a jacket pocket. Here's an example found at random on Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/including-Software-assembled-CBA-Digital/dp/B002FOCNRM/r...

Re: Unable to Record
The first thing to do is to ignore 1.2.6 (which is now ancient and no longer supported/updated) - and isnstall the latest Beta Audacity 1.3.12 which you can get from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ You can have 1.2 and 1.3 on your machine at the same time (but both cannot run at the same tim...

With focus on the label (i.e. the label is selected by clicking in the label) then the Tab key will take you to the next label.

Re: Cassette to CD using Audacity on Mac OS X
Nice try, though. It usually takes two or three extended manual cleanup sessions to make buying the music on a new Music CD or downloading it fresh look pretty good. Sadly even that does not always work noiselessly either. The one track that I've heard off the recent boxed-CD-set release of Sandy D...

Don't worry, it still catches out some mature users of Audacity from time to time - me certainly

Re: Crashed audacity 1.3.12 beta, cant recover the project
it seems that for me it is not good enough to relay on auto saving, but I must always manually backup work in progress. It was literally the last click on the edited podcasts when the audacity crashed ( after a full day of working on it). Not just for you - it's something we all should do regularly...
