And note that not all CD players will play a "Data CD" that has MP3 files on it.

Re: Problem Playing Albums on iPod
Is there a way to import the .WAV files (or folders that contain them) into iTunes directly? I wound up importing from the CD. Yes, just use the "File > Add File to Library..." or "File > Add Folder to Library..." iTunes commands. I have found in the past that when I have made C...

Re: Is my recording level too low? Is my amplified level ok?
Just to expand a bit on lturudic's advice: 1) It is generally thought best practice to apply DC offset correction as the first thing you do immediately after capture - apply no amplification at that stage. You onlt need to do this if your signal is carrrying some DC - you can see this when the wavef...

Either way it would be pointless for Default EQ curves (because developers do not read the Forum), and almost as pointless for "optional" curves because the proper storage place is the already setup Wiki pages (as for Nyquist plug-ins). So should we instead have on the forum a special pla...

Re: Problem Playing Albums on iPod
For a start, I hope you are aware that using uncompressed files like WAV and AIFF in your iTunes/iPod will lead to a very large library size. You really should think about using a compressed format like MP3 or Apple's own AAC. Compressing will give you aan audio file which is roughlt 1/10 the size o...

Re: No sound on playback (Windows XP)
Yor manual seems to negelect to tell you about splitting a recording up into the varios tracks on your LPs - for that see this tutorial from that set I pointed you at earlier: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Splitting_a_recording_into_separate_tracks Also have a good look at this sample workflow:...

Re: No sound on playback (Windows XP)
I note that the manual (p.35) for your Grace tape device advises you to reset the Audacity quality preferencesto 16-bit. I would advise you to leave it at its default setting of 32-bit float for recording and editing - and then when you need to export the WAV files as the final step (for making a CD...

Re: No sound on playback (Windows XP)
No, what I am saying is that you possibly don't need the tape deck at all to digitize your LPs, nor should you need to record any tapes Turntable=> Preamp/amp=>Rca to 3.5mm jack lead=>PC=>Audacity or if you want/need to use an external soundcard Turntable=> Preamp/amp=>RCA to RCA lead=>external USB ...
