Re: shortcut

Yes academically interesting but not what I really need for LP transcriptions and chop-outs from FM radio broadcasts where I need to control lots of separate fades (in and out) for each "song" in the project - and where the length of the fades has to be judged and set individually for each...

Re: Pull down menu missing!

Well that looks like a full set for 1.3 to me - that's exactly what my 1.3.12 installation shows.

1.2.x on the other hand did have a Project pulldown menu.

Re: Win 7 crash.

I've turned off the advance mode on the UA-1G, so far, so good. This is curious. I use the earlier model of this device: the Edirol UA-1EX on Windows XP with the Edirol drivers. I have it set in advanced mode and it works fine. It did need the Edirol drivers, it would not work in advanced mode on t...

Re: Storage Space

I'm one of the folk that has written in the past about using 1TB disks ... I use the 1TB (nowhere near full at this stage) partly becase a 1TB is normally cheaper per byte than a 500gB (i.e a 1TB is normally cheaper than twice the price of a disk half its size). This gives me plenty of headroom on t...

Re: how to convert stereo to mono

Wow, that's some seriously damaged signal - the Left channel looks totally (over)saturated and the right channel is not centred on the zero line.

Where did you get this file, is it an import from somewhere, if so what type of file is it? Or did you make this recording yourself?

Re: co-exist with Audacity 1.2

Yes you can have both on your PC at the same time - but you cannot run both at the same time. Note carefully that while 1.2 projects can be opened in 1.3, you cannot do this the other way around. If you do have a 1.3 project that you want to run in 1.2 then you can export a WAV (lossless) file from ...

Re: shortcut

Currently you cannot bind any effects to a keyboard shortcut. This is one of the most popular Feature Requests on the Wiki. Would you like me to add your vote to that request? Personally I'd give a lot to be able to have shortcuts for fade in/out ... BTW are you aware that Audacity's Normalize opera...
