Re: Effects-Normalize??
Oh and Normalize has another useful little function called "Remove DC offset". You do not need this unless your sioundcard is applyind DC to the signal (is faulty in other words). You can see if you have DC offset on the signal if the waveform in Audacity is not centered on the zero line. ...

Re: Draft: HOWTO convert audio file formats
:D well, i am an audiophile, should i use a higher rate? I started out at 192 after extensive listening tests on good electrostatic speakers and =good Sennheiser headphones. I could (even with my ageing ears) slightly hear the diffference between 192 and 256 - and I could definitely hear the difrer...

I would also recommend that you go to Edit > Preferences > Import/Export and select the...

Re: Help Italian Manual
I think there is someone working on an Italian translation of the manual - but it is a work in progress so it is not complete. I don't know how to switch to Itallian mode for the manual as a whole (or if that is possible) - but any page that has an Italian translation will have a little Italian flag...

Re: Repair function not available to me for fixing pops
Are you in Pause mode rather that Stop mode?
You have to be Stopped for any of the effects to be available.

Re: Unable to load .aup file on Audacity
See this page from the 1.3 manual where you will see that Projects are much more than just the .aup file: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Audacity_Projects You will either need to Export a WAV on the machine-1 to transfer to machine-2 - or you will have to move all the audio files and any externa...
