Re: Registry edit in Windows 7 to get "Stereo Mix"?
I was just checking in to the possibility of making this operating system function the way that it was supposed to since Dell pre-programmed the computer so it wouldn't be able to give the stereo mix option regardless of the OS Oddly enough my six year old Dell Dimension 2400 desktop PC will not re...

Re: Registry edit in Windows 7 to get "Stereo Mix"?
Yeah, I'm very happy with the UA-1G. It's very stable, offers good fidelity and lets me do what I was missing when I bought my new W7 laptop. Listening to music on my PC is very enjoyable. What it appears to offer over my older 1EX model is bigger more ergonomc volume controls - though I barely tou...

Re: Can't Get Input Levels Down
You're a candidate for one of the external soundcards that we know work well on Audacity - see: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=9477 My personal recommendation would be to go for the Edirol UA-1EX / Cakewalk UA-1G as they have a gain control to manage the level of the input si...

Re: need magic edit of random L or R drop-outs on 6hwv recor
To build on Justin's good suggestions ... trishya, one way that you can keep evrything in synch is not to delete the sections of your third track (the mono one you are copying from track one for the repairs to the dropouts in track-2 - rather just silence the sections you don't need in the thirrd tr...

Re: recording midi files on Audacity
Copy of my second response to you yesterday Response fron Roland Tech Support: <<<The UM series are MIDI interfaces – not Audio Interfaces. This includes the UM1G, UM2G and UM3G. No audio signal is used here – just MIDI data….. >>> Which is as I thought - so you will need either a hardware or softw...

Re: recording midi files on Audacity
Copy of my first response to you yesterday Madeleine, the UM2 is a Midi device; on the Roland website it states "The UM-2 utilises the Fast Processing Technology (FPT) which makes transmission of MIDI information exceptionally fast. In response to a regular incoming MIDI data flow, FPT optimiz...

I already responded to your similar thread yesterday (including making a support call to Roland on your behalf) - see: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=8378&p=130817#p130817 Please don't double post - it is considered very bad netiquette - and it only annoys the forum elves...

Re: Registry edit in Windows 7 to get "Stereo Mix"?
+1 for this - I run the predecessor to this device the, Edirol UA-1EX , and that has always given excellent results.MNicholls wrote:Buy a Cakewalk UA-1G external USB sound card, it will give you the recording options you want.
Good to know tht the UA-1G also works well with Audacity.
