+1 for "History..." staying just as it is
Apart from other considerations raised above - "undo" is not the only reason to go looking at the history trail

If you right-click on the input mixer bar you will be able to enter a numerical value ( fine tunable down to 6 decimal places! )

Re: directory to install 1.3 on
I would let the Audacity installer place 1.3 wher it wants to. I would not install it over the 1.2 that you have as this may cause installation/configuration problems. You can have 1.2 and 1.3 an your PC at the same time, but you cannot run them at the same time. Note that 1.2 projects can be opened...

Re: .m4b skips on iPod
theseus, you're welcome. Have a look at this workflow tutorial I put together for the 1.3/2.0 manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Sample_workflow_for_exporting_to_iTunes This one tells you how to break up the recording into chunks (like the tracks on a CD): http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/...

Re: embedding wavs into powerpoint
In Powerpoint try: Insert > Movies and Sounds > Sound from File... I've just tested this to successfully embed a WAV file into a PPT slide - and what's more it played automativcally when I tested moving to that slide through a presentation (although when reviewing/building the presentation I had to ...

Re: .m4b skips on iPod
You could consider breaking up your long tracks into smaller tracks and threading them together on iTunes via an "albem title" or a playlist. Personally I use AAC (Apples's own lossless format) in my iTunes library. I export WAV files from Audacity and use iTunes to convert to AAC (iTunes ...

Re: Delay On Input Audio
Strange indeed :? My understanding is that by plugging into the phones input on the UCG you should be hearing hardware monitoring - that is getting the signal before it ever gets to the PC, So the only latency there should be down to the length of the cables Guitar-UCG and UCG-phones/speakers - and ...

Re: Delay On Input Audio
If you are monitoring the signal after it has got to Audacity, i.e. the sound from you PC then I would expect a latency delay as the siganl has to pass though the computer's hardware and software and this takes a little time (not a lot, but noticeable). If you are monitoring with headphones plugged ...

Re: Recording Vinyl into Audacity Help
Most laptops tend to have only a MIC input and not a Line-in input. A mic input is expecting a much lower sound level than line-level. So if you are feeding the signal into a mic input then that is likely to be the cause of your over-hot signal. If you do have only a mic in - then you are a candidat...

Re: HELP !!!!! PLEASE......
As Steve said above the Behringer device is a "no frills" unit and has no gain controls. Alll it is is a device to take in an analog audio signal and convert to a digital signal, delivering the output via USB. I use the Edirol UA-1EX (now superseded by the Cakewalk UA-1G - both devices mad...
