Do you still have the original Aufdacity Project - hopefully with the two sesssions on two separate tracks (jst playing togother). If so use the time shift tool to slide one of them along the timeline so it starts after the first one.

... it works with many other programs... The reason that it works with many other prorograms is that those programs have a habit of resettting their preferences to default "factory settings" - so it's not the re-installation that sorts the problem it's normally resetting preferences which...

And that assumes that the tapes haven't degraded (as they do) - and that you hstill have a decent working tape deck in the future
I promise you it's much easier to save copies of your bit-perfect WAVs than it is to go back and re-do the transcriptions.

Koz is not suggesting storing them as MP3s - he is suggesting storing them as WAVs additionally on other media (like external USB discs for example).
