Re: How to stitch files together?
What you're asking for here is an outstanding Feature Request for "Import Append" Try this for a workaround, you may find it easier than your current method (the screen won't get so crowded for a start) : 1) Import the first clip 2) Import the next clip 3) select the "next" clip ...

Re: Converting long multi-track file into many single-track
1.3.12 has proved pretty stable in my daily use. I've also been using various 1.3.13 Alpha's for testing and they seem pretty good too. So go for 1.3.12 for now and upgrade to 1.3.13 when it comes out as the next Beta (possibly as early as next week). You can get 1.3 from here: http://audacityteam.o...

Try this tutorial from the Wiki KDS: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Recor ... e_computer
We should probably think about replicating this tutorial in the manual methinks.

Re: Where is the input selector in 1.3 beta?
One thing you might try is a visit to the Realtek site to see if they have any updated device drivers for your particular soundcard. And if that doesn't work then a complaint/bug-report to Realtek is possibly in order - it may be something they already know about - but if they dont', they should. WC

Re: Version 1.2.6
So I will stick with the 1.2.6. Again, I believe it is the best ! And as long as it works I'll stick with it. Hi Drora, I'm inclined to agree with Steve's earlier diagnosis, in that I too think you have some dodgy USB services somewhere: cable, plug, sockets whatever. The return of 1.2.6 to sudden ...

Or at least "Heritage" - I suspect that we will still need 1.2 for some of the older platforms that still persiststeve wrote:Most of us that work on the documentation and support side are longing for the day when the 1.2.x series is officially pronounced "obsolete"...

Re: Where is the input selector in 1.3 beta?
Personally I would rather let Audacity be a slave to the soundcard h/w and s/w and use the Realtek HD to control the inputs to Audacity. That's certainly how it works on my desktop with the external USB soundcard, an Edirol UA-1EX where the Edirol is definitely the controlling device. But as explain...

Re: Where is the input selector in 1.3 beta?
I have happily used Audacity for many years. Today, however, I had the great misfortune to upgrade to 1.3 beta ... I'm a bit confused here Patrick - all the Betas that I have on my desktop PC still have the Input Selector. 1.3.7 offers a full range of inputs, later Betas only have "Wave" ...

And for Windows 7 you really should be on Audacity 1.3 (1.3.12 is current & 1.3.13 is due out next week hopefully). You can get 1.3 from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/
