Re: issues with getting audio transfered on homemade tapes

Unlikely to be the brand of tape. For a start check all your connectios, leads and plugs - make sure there are clean and securely home. Have a read of this set of tutorials in the manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Tutorial_-_Copying_tapes,_LPs_or_minidiscs_to_CD And do yourself a favour and...

Re: Can I record and have it stop when there is silence?

Works well on all our PCs at home XP-HE, XP-Pro, Win-7 (and Vista when my wife had that on her PC a while back). It's available for free download from the Apple iTunes site, you don't need t...

Re: Getting Things Off the Ground

As Steve says - and this tutorial from the 1.3 manual may also help you: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Reco ... turntables

although it says it's about USB TTs, most of the information in applies to all USB audio devices.

Re: Book of Audacity released, reviewers wanted

big headsmack on using Normalize on stereo tracks ... No need for a headsmack Carla - it's just the way that Audacity does things. My understanding is that this behaviour is not the same in many other audio applications, where using Normalize would be the correct order of the day. And it only ever ...
