You should see a line in the Audacity banner that says User Control Panel (x new messages) ...
the x tells you how many you have, just click on the "x new messages" to view (and create/send)

Re: Some clipping after normalize
Ok I've done the updates in the Tutorials Shaky - Wiki still to do. See: 1) The end of step 3 in: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Tutorial_-_Your_First_Recording 2) Step 3 of: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Splitting_a_recording_into_separate_tracks 3) Monitoring in: http://manual.audacitytea...

Re: Some clipping after normalize
Perhaps something along these lines should be added to the relevant Wiki articles, in particular I’m thinking of the one on ripping vinyl . . . Thanks for this feedback Shaky. One of the tutororials in the 1.3 manual already has this advice, the one with the "Sample workflow for LP digitizatio...

The WAV format does not support some of the metadata so it is lost and has to be re-input. (I wonder what else gets lost that I don't know about yet?) The audaci...

Re: Why no Audacity export format?
All you need to do is to export them to a set of WAV files and then you can "open" each WAV file as a new separate Audacity project - and personally I would make sure that you have your import preferences set to "Copy In" "the "Safer" option. It doesn';t actually e...

Re: Open File (copy): no sound
the diagonal pattern is displayed when you have importing set to "Read Directly" from the uncompressed audio file the "faster" method. This pattern is displayed while Audacty is calculation the waveform to display - it will do this in parts (normally starting from the leftmost - ...
