My wife is very grateful for your recommendation of this s/w Koz.. Her new laptop cam't record streaming audio in Audacity - so she bought TR and is delighted with it. She's even considering shelling out for the upgrade.

Re: record on and needle sticks
1.3 is actually now a very mature Beta and the developers are getting pretty close to a release candidate (RC) for 2.0 - actually no new development work is taking place on 1.3 (nor will it) and all the effort is focussed on fixing a couple of tricky bugs that are currently stopping the 1/3s being a...

Re: Audacity Back-Ward Version?
In your current 1.3.x project, export each track as a WAV file. To do this, select each track in turn and click on File > Export Selection. In the "Save as type" dropdown menu in the Export dialog, choose WAV. You will now have a WAV file for each track in your project. You can do this in...

Re: WAV to CDA filename problem
Is there anyway I can get lossless files with metadata stored onto a CD? What you are running into is the limitations imposed by the standards of the Red Book for CDs. When you create a "music CD" the music in the WAV files is created into one long data stream and the TOC (Table Of Conten...

Re: Exporting Multiple from Label Track
I haven't tried the Sync-Lock feature yet. Hadn't even heard of it until I saw the panel on 1.3.13. I'll avoid further comments on my anticipated confusion until I see how intuitive this feature is. Have you seen this page in the manual Dick, it may help: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Sync-Loc...

For a start, upgrade to that latest Audacity 1.3.13 - you can get it from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/
This set of tutorials from the 1.3 manual should help you: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Tuto ... iscs_to_CD

Re: failure to remove clicks and pops
Audacity's click removal is ok - but I prefer to use Brian Davies' excellent ClickRepair. It costs $40 is well worth it if you have a lot of tracks to process. See this sticky thread: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1994 Record=> Export a WAV=> Process through ClickRepair=>re-...

Re: the EffectMenu
The visual representation of the audio is the blue waveform stuff. select it all with Ctrl+A or click and drag on part of the audio to create a partial selection to operate on.
