Re: Amplify whole album or individual tracks?

Bill, thanks for the response. Why do you recommend amplifying before doing the fades? I was under the impression that amplify should be the last step. I'm very interested in this too Bill - like Audioguy I've always done my Amplifying/"normalizing" as my last step prior to final export a...

Re: AIFF File Size

Personaly I would (and do) export WAVs from Audacity and then use iTunes to do the AAC conversions. For a start iTunes does the conversion about twice as fast as Audacity - and then there's no mucking about with the FFmpeg stuff. See this workflow tutorial I wrote for the manual a while back: http:/...

Re: Cannot remove click

Or you can smooth a disjunctuion like the one that Steve illustrates by selecting samples either side of the fault and using Effect > Repair

Repair will fix up to 128 samples based on interpolation from neighbouring samples.

Re: Exporting MP3 takes forever

What software and hardware player are you making these MP3s for. Som e player s/w can also do the conversions/compressions. iTunes for example (I use this on XP) is a bout twice as fast at making AACs than Audacity (I export WAVs and uses iTunes to do the AAC conversion) - I don't have data on how l...

Re: i will pay someone to get white noise out!

I would strongly recommend backing up your iTunes library from time to time. I personally make two copies of mine using two separate USB external disks. Iwas jolly glad of the backup recently when the iTunes libary on my laptop imploded into a heap of digital dust . But as Steve points out, to start...

Re: Delay typing into a label or dragging tracks vertically

I can't see the download at all - I get a 404 error That's because the post above your cited post says "I've removed the "no_autosave" build". It's been superseded by the Nightly Build, which is faster than the "no_autosave" build for editing labels.... Well that'll te...

Re: problem with clipping

So what does the slider at the bottom right of the front fascia do?

I can't see a manual online - and the best piccie I could find has insufficient clarity to understand what that slider does: http://hifigoteborg.se/store/description.php?id=653

Re: Draw Tool grid Idea

I use the Draw tool to draw a wave. Then I repeat the wave so its long enough for something to start out with. It helps make an original starting point for a tone ... Can't the Audacity command Generate > Tone do that job for you? Or are you drawing a more complex waveform than a simple tone? I'm cu...
