Re: Problems recording with UA 1G
... I'm about 99% sure that it is something related to my computer though. Basically, is there any default setting I should have, what should I be doing in that sound panel area? Any suggestions? It seems that even when I set my UA1G as my default device, my desktop microphone still works fine and ...

Re: Problems recording with UA 1G
do you want me to download the UA-25 advanced driver for my UA1G? I can try this, but I don't know if it will work. No, no, no ... - I only included that link to show that there is an example of successful usage of a UA-1G with W7, and that it only worked in W7 when run in advanced mode - sorry for...

Re: 1.3.5 will not capture audio from line-in
1.3.13 is the latest Audacity Beta (with 1.3.14 coming sometime soon hopefully).
Both run very well on both my XP machines.

Re: how do others record cassette tapes?
Similar to Steve, I use my trusty old Nakamichi BX-2 connected to my PC through and Edirol UA-1EX external soundcard. This produced excellent results, but note this Nak was the deck on which most of my tapes were recorded originally, I was using TDK-SA tapes (and the deck was especially set up for t...

Re: Problems recording with UA 1G
I note that in an earlier post a successful W7/UA-1G user posts in this thread http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=56548&p : I have a Cakewalk UA-1G which only works with Audacity using the advanced mode driver supplied by Edirol. It will not work (record) with Audacity using ...

Re: Problems recording with UA 1G
Thanks for the chart - useful. I've finally manage to track down a copy of the online manual for the UA-1G (by goig to the Roland site rather than the Cakewalk site - Roland is the Parent co. Cakewalk is one of their brands). ok so now we know that you've got is set to 44.1 kHz which is good Switch ...
