Re: Help A Newbie Out With First Project
In 1.3 partularly the later 1.3s recovery should be totally automatic (it's always worked for me on the later Betas) There are some instructions at the bottom of the recovery page in the Manual for manual recovery - see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Recovery The link it gives to the Wiki recov...

Re: Is is possible to record directly from Panasonic recorde
You also need to know that the old music tapes may outlast the music CDs. ... You can transfer all you want, but don't throw out the tapes. The deadly irony is though, Koz, that we will all end up with boxes of tapes and eventually no functioning tape decks to play them on, and no manufacturer to b...

Re: Is is possible to record directly from Panasonic recorde
I suspect that you are burning a "Data CD" and not a "Music CD, you need to make a "Music CD".
Did you see this tutorial in the link I sent you before: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Burn ... es_to_a_CD ?

You need to be in Stop mode and not just Paused - and you need to have some audio selected.

See this sticky thread: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=9477
You should not be using the mic in with a line level device like you R2R tapedeck - the signal is about 1000 times higher in level than the mic input is expecting.

Re: Cassette to digital problems using Ion Tape Express
Hi Trebor, Thanks for the reply but I was able to make the operating system fix on my own. I identified the problem as distortion and loud buzzing when using the Ion Tape Express to record my cassettes in a digital format. I am still having this problem, and it isn't my tapes. They all sound find o...

Re: recording with USB device better?
I've recorded audio Cds already with the Sony and they sound good on stereo players. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything because I wasn't using the Grace unit. Rather than recording CDs you should be ripping them directly (the only CDs you may have to record are the odd ones they pro...

Re: recording with USB device better?
Your best tool for working out whether you get a better recording with the Sony&Realtek onboard card versus the Gracewith it's wn soundcard is your ears . Do some listening tests on good quality speakers or good headphones. If the recordings were originally made on the Sony then you may well fin...
