Re: no tags are exported for WAV files
In general there is only limited support for metadata tags with WAV files, sometimes non. And even if you do have tags then some applications will ignore them. Compressed Mpeg files (e'g. MP3, AAC) do offer full metadata support. Mpeg files are really designed for portable music players as thet typi...

Re: Simplifying Audacity
You should be able to do this by copying the Preferences file(s) to the new computers. In 1.3 Audacity creates a Preferences file, audacity.cfg, for each user - see this page in the manual for information on where they are stored on the different computer platforms: http://manual.audacityteam.org/ma...

See: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/WAV#Metadata

Re: Click and Pop Removal
For my money the best-in-class click and pop remover is Brain Davies' excellent ClickRepair package. It costs a little at $40 but is well worth it IMHO if you have a lot of LPs to process. Brian does let you have a 21-day free trial so you can test out if it works for you. See this sticky thread: ht...

Re: Newbie help with waveform
... Anyway, my 2c input here is - It's worth teaching people to stick to the rule of thumb: Record at -6db ! The nice thing is, it's easy to boost the sound as the very last step , resulting in a great-sounding show with no clipping. Keep it low and clean while processing, boost it to 0dB at the en...

Re: Distortion in Recording
Unless you have a one of the "magic" mic inputs that is capable of switching between "line level" and "mic level" (and there are not many of those about) then you are overloading the input - th emic input is expecting a signal about 1,000 times smaller than the one you ...
