Re: 1 Channel Seems To Be Higher Than The Other.....
I have added this to the following tutorials in the manual:
http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Samp ... gitization
http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Tuto ... iscs_to_CD
Thanks Steve for the "nudge" to do that.

Re: bouncy wave form due to warped vinyl
Interesting point unklfoddy about the glass - I don't think I'd ever put my vinyl in the oven even at the lowest setting :) There is similar advice given out for "re-baking" the oxide layer onto a cassette or R2R tape with a little light "baking" - ... I have added a note about f...

Re: recording vinyl 78
Thanks for that info unklfoddy - I have used an extract from that to update the Munual's tutorial page on recording 78s - see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Reco ... _cartridge

Re: No audio from computer when recording
I went to the website to download 1.3 and saw that it was a beta version and figured that I was having enough trouble with version 1.2.6. Actually you'll probably have far more trouble with 1.2.6 than the latest 1.3. 1.2 is so old now that Noah was using it - it is no longer maintained/updated and ...

Re: Export at a Bit Rate vs Resample
Fore all my LP transcriptions and FM broadcast captures I work with Audacity set at 44.1kHz 32-bit float (to give me good headroom for editing - Update: I've just noticed Steve's response to your other psoting which endorses this ). On Export of production files I use Export to downsample to 16-bit ...

Re: Stereo recording from Vinyl LP
I would certainly have expected 4 leads to be connected (two for the L channel and two for the right); my cartridge has 4 and so have all the cartridges I have owned over the years . I would check with the manufacturer (if they have a tech support helpline) on how many leads should be connected to t...

Re: Printing Audacity 1.3.x manual
Added to which the 1.3 manual is pretty dynamic - changes are made to it on an almost daily basis to keep it in step with the latest 1.3.x Alpha nighly-build releases (currently 1.3.14).

Re: Timer
Reading between the lines I think you are suggesting people are dissuaded from using Timer Record when it might be more appropriate because it's less functional. Perhaps time for a new campaign "Proposal Timer Record Improvements" (for after 2.0)? Ok IC - I'll try to find some time to kno...

Re: Stereo recording from Vinyl LP
Looks increasingly as though it's the turntable, its ADC (soundcard) or its USB services that are at fault. The first thing to check is the cartridge- are all four of the connectors on the back of the cartridge pressed fully home? Take care, these are delicate connections. If your TT's manual is cle...
