Re: Timer

Reading between the lines I think you are suggesting people are dissuaded from using Timer Record when it might be more appropriate because it's less functional. Perhaps time for a new campaign "Proposal Timer Record Improvements" (for after 2.0)? Ok IC - I'll try to find some time to kno...

Re: Sound Card Reviews

In the first post of this thread I also added links to the manufacturers' websites for each of the devices that are still available - and updated the pro forma with a Manufacturer's Website: field.

Re: sound editing / Audacity: Edit a finished spoken podcast

I will use Audacity and apply the following effects on the MP3s: 1. Compressor. 2. Normalize. 3. Noise Removal. Did I miss any effect that makes the difference? (Please tell me the name of the effect, I will learn the how to later). I would do them in the reverse order - and I would remove DC offse...

Re: sound editing / Audacity: Edit a finished spoken podcast

Here are the specs: * Format: MP3. * Program Used: Audacity. * Bit Rate: 320kbps. * Audio Sample Rate: 44KHz. A. Are the mentioned specs good enough? Should I improve anything? You should really be working with an uncompressed master format e.g. WAV or AIFF. 320kbs MP3 is a high quality format for ...

Re: Loading a URL Source to record

The other product that Koz recommends on Windows is TotalRecorder - my wife bought it, as with her latest laptop/W7 it could not be configured to record streaming audio, from her reports it works well.
