Re: HOOKING UP/CONFIGURING A NEW USB TURNTABLE

The USB TT page in the manual comes from this set of tutorials that you should find useful: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Tuto ... iscs_to_CD

Re: 'warbling' when recording froma cassette???

Ok,the signal from the headphone output of your cassette player is almost certainly far too hot for the mic imput on your laptop (Mics deliver a very low level signal indeed). You will probably need an external soundcard to handle the level you are dealing with. A coupleof suggestions are the Behrin...

Re: 'warbling' when recording froma cassette???

Huck, how have you got your tapedeck connected to your computer: 1) the outputs from the deck, 2) the input on the computer? Are you using a laptop or a full desktop PC? What are your Audacity Preferences settings - I would suggest using the default 44100Hz for the project rate and 32-bit floating f...

Re: 'warbling' when recording froma cassette???

Start off with a read and work-through of this set of tutorials from the manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Tutorial_-_Copying_tapes,_LPs_or_minidiscs_to_CD If it's bad when you play it back in Audacity it will remain bad when you burn it to CD - so you need to fix whatever is wrong. Re: record in same track?

Not in 1.2 but in 1.3.x there is a new Append Record function.

In 1.2 you would need to use the Pause function while recording and then un-Pause to start recording again.

Re: Switch off scrolling during recording

For a start you will probably find it easier if you zoom out on the waveform so more of the waveform is displayed on the screen.

Re: Normalizing vs. Amplifying

... I think most audio editors have a "normalize" function with an option to maintain left-right balance. Audacity happens to always normalize independently. After much lobbying earlier this year, this was finally changed for 1.3.14 (currenlty only Alpha not Beta release yet). In 1.3.14 t...

Re: feedback wanted on hi-fi iPod docks

No, I don't remember the original question, either. ROFLMAO - a thread full of interest, nonetheless :D Actually, following some deeper interweb review research, I went ahead and ordered the Arcam irDock, it arrived this morning and is already plumbed into the back of my QUAD 33 control unit and de...
