Re: playback distortion linked to Windows WASAPI in Audacity 2.3.0

WASAPI playback on both my PCs with W10 is absolutely fine with 2.4.2 and the latest alpha test build I have for the upcoming 3.0.0. But it does appear from this thread and other reports that not all PCs have good playback with WASAPI - my suspicion is that it is down to sound/card drivers. Both my ...

I also tried running some other resource-hungry apps like web-stream download and playing a movie - but still no dropouts.

Re: Audacity on Big Sur

I just tested on my Macbook Pro with 11.0.1 Big Sur - opened an existing one hour project and then did a further 30 minute recording a) I don't get any drop-out markers (and I do have that facility turned on, I checked) b) Audacity doesn't look that resource hungry - it's taking 24-25% CPU and 80-81...

Re: a single maddening click

You also might want to try Play-at-Speed to slow the playback down as you hunt the click down - see:

Re: a single maddening click

It's difficult to select the exact wave that indicates the click. That's why Trebor was showing you the Spectrogram view - sometimes easiret to spaot that way. You may want to try using Multi-view (click in the trackname to get the drop-down menu) and select it - see: https://manual.audacityteam.or...

Another way to make the menu shorter is to use grouping: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/eff ... ences.html
Yes but that involves an extra click ... ;)
