I use Audacity for most of my LP processing - but for the click removal I use Brian Davies' excellent ClickRepair - it costs a little at Aus$40 but is wull worth it IMHO especially if you jave a lot of LPs to process. See this sticky thread: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=199...

First, do yourself a big favour and upgrade to the latest Audacity 1.3.14 which you can get from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ 1.2.6 is ancient now and has not been maintained or updated for years. I started Audacity, set the preferences so that the playback device is Realtek HD Audio output and the recording device is Realtek HD Audio I don't specifically know what kind of sound card is in the comp. The clue was in what you wrote earlier in the post - you have a "Realtek HD" soundc...

And you need to make sure that the sound input is targeted on yout Bush TT but the output sound shouldbe targetted on your PC's onboard sound card (Windows assumes that when you plug in a USB sound device that you want both input and output to go there - but your TT has no speakers ... ). If you want to record it unattended and stop recording at the end of the LP you can always use the Timer Record functionality - available from the Tranpsort menu. This has the downside of potentially "playing" the null centre track untill you get back to it, and thus unnecessarily wearing ...
