Re: Click/pop removal - ClickRepair software

The workload with ClickRepair is not really any longer than trying to use the Click Removal functionality in the integrated suite that is Audacity. 1) I capture in Audacity with Audacity set to 44.1kHz 32-bit float 2) Export the capture from Audacity to a 32-bit WAV (as ClickRepair works in 32-bit) ...

Re: Audacity 1.3.13-beta backward compatibility?

All the 1.3.x releases should have backwards compatibility with 1.2 projects and it always worked for me in the early Betas (though I vauguely remember a thread about some folk having problems with this a little while ago - which may have been reported as a bug). 1.3 projects will not open in 1.2 th...

Re: Plug-in to speed workflow?

There are a couple of Audacity functions that relate to this: the Silence Finder and the Sound Finder (you probably need the Sound Finder). They are both available from the Analyze menu. See the end of this page in the 1.3 manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Analyze_Menu The Sound Finder will...

Re: enhancing recording from cassette tape

yes you can use Audacity to selct the unwanted audio (silence) and delete it.

Re: Large MP3 Files (2 GB)

The expansion in the temp folder is because Audacity decompresses the MP3 files. Just for the avoidance of doubt ... Audacity doesn't actually "decompress" the files in that the compression damage that was incurred when the original MP3 was compressed will still be there in the Audacity p...

Re: can't find sync-lock

for some unfathomable reason it looks like a tiny stopwatch. My understanding is that it is supposed to indicate "time" synchronization. Personally I preferred the earlier "chain" symbols that were were used for the icon and the synchronized tracks - but the clock was favoured a...

Or your Audacity Preferences settings may be different on both machines :?

But glad you've got it working. :)

Re: Saving In General

After saving the file, I'm guessing that the editing I've done will be there when I open the file back up with the proper name. You think that's a good guess? Usually yes - but not always. It depends on how your Audacity Preferences are set and whether or not you have moved the orginal file. Audaci...

Re: Recording Issues

My second question is in regards to a number of Beatles songs where they almost sound like instrumentals as the music volume is good, but the vocals are very faint and almost sound like they are in the background. What can I do to adjust the vocals so that their volume is appropriate? A lot of the ...
