Re: Timeline -- Change playback position by clicking on it?
Oops I should have said - I've been a Beta user for such a long time now that I've forgotten most of the limitations of 1.2.x I'm actually using 1.3.14 Beta (and 1.3.15 Alphas - I'm part of the QA & documentation team). The Betas/Alphas are now very stable and very close to being Release Candida...

It should work that on PCs too - it certainly does on both my XP (XP-HE & XP-PRO) machines.

Re: The 'Do not recover' option
That could be very bad. It may require replacing the hard drive, which would mean that all data on that drive will be lost. That's why cautious folk have two separate identical backup devices - and the ultra cautious have off-site backups too - and the ultra-ultra cautious put the off-site backup i...

Re: Auto-Heal Function?
The tool in Audacity is the Repair effect - it will fix up to 128 selected samples by interpolating from the neighbouring waveforms - see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Repair

Re: When is Inverse RIAA appropriate?
DC offset (if you have it) is a result of a faulty or poor soundcard, a small (sometimes large DC current) is appled to the signal, sometimes just one of the channels. It shows up visually as a waveform that is not centred on the zero centre line. As Irish says Normalize will remove this - see: http...

Re: When is Inverse RIAA appropriate?
I agree that it is sensible to use you Technics deck rather tahn a cheapo USB deck. I started out my LP conversions with an ION iTT-USB but soon junked it as it gave far too much wow and flutter, the electronics were good thogh but the cartridge was average. I resurrected my old Technics TT feom tha...

Re: Click/pop removal - ClickRepair software
Speaking of which . . .WC, if ClickRepair needs 32bit .wav files I’m afraid that pretty much rules it out since I have an existing backlog of almost 40Gb in 16bit format waiting for a light scrub. Is that a major issue? Can anybody comment on the quality differences between 16bit and 32bit file pro...
