Re: Can I program a start/stop times for Audacity?
I don't think you can get Audacity to do that via Task Scheduler - though you might want to look at the sound activated recording feature - see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Recording_Preferences I too want a multi-event scheduler for Audacity which is why I wrote this proposal: http://manual....

Re: Task Scheduler, Win 7, Audacity 1.3 Beta
How versatile is this? can I schedule these to happen every day at a given time? Can I schedule more than one? Can I use the Windows Task manager to control the recording? Is there a command line interface to go directly into recording? In a sense, i want a DVR. (DAR?) It's not very versatile- it's...

Re: Track Splitting Workflow
Yes you can do this - see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Label_Tracks and this tutorial: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Splitting_a_recording_into_separate_tracks which is part of this set of useful tutorials: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Tutorial_-_Copying_tapes,_LPs_or_minidiscs_to_...

Re: Audacity appears to be increasing the bit rate?
I think you hit the nail on the head yourself earlier in the thread - you want to avoid as many conversions as possible - so if your final target is 44.1 kHz CDs than it is better to stick with 44.1kHz throughout the cycle. It is worth using Audacity at 32-bit float as I said earlier to provide max....

Re: Audacity appears to be increasing the bit rate?
I did move my TT to my spare-room/office close by my PC, jus as you are thinking of doing. My recording chain is TT=>ART DJ Pre-11 pre-amp=>Edirol UA-1EX (USB soundcard)=>SkyTronic passive switch=>PC(XP-HE) The passive switch lets me switch easily between 3 input sources (TT/ cassette deck/FM tuner)...
Re: Workflow
Well solved of of 'em anyway :) You can record the replacement section and then use the Time Shift tool (double headed arrow <-> ) to slide the replacement to be under the section you silenced (you can't directly punch it in over the silence on the original track. The timing may mot be ccurate so yo...
