Re: Removing (editing) commercials from soundtrack
These were the ones I was thinking of.steve wrote:What I would probably do with such monstrous MP3s is to use "MP3directCut" or "MP3split" to split the MP3 into more manageable size chunks. Both of these programs are free, and both can split MP3s losslessly (no loss of sound quality).

Re: Removing (editing) commercials from soundtrack

And note carefully that this will add further MP3 compression damage and the way out via LAME. But why is the original file in MP3 format? I thought that you were using ...

I, too use the same effects over and over and I got really good at swishing up and down the list with my mouse. I can tell you exactly the arm motion I need to get to Chris's Compressor. Me too - and ...

Re: Tips on Cleaning Up (or "Fixing") Bad Recordings
... for every additional effect that is used, the original signal quality can take a loss. So A good point and worth reminding folk. When I do my LP captures the only processing I do is to remove clicks and pops, clean the inter-track gaps with fade-in/out/silence and amplification to -3dB. I prefe...

Re: Recording problem
red bars are the clipping indicators - so a full red block means that you have a heavily oversaturated signal. Does your ION TT have a gain control (volume control). The ION iTTUSB that I used to have did have one but it was in an un-obvious and inconvenient place - underneath at the back. If it doe...
