Re: recording from lps
Have a look at this piece of kit: http://artproaudio.com/artcessories/turntable_preamps/product/usb_phono_plus-ps/ It is a phono pre-amp integrated with a USB soundcard (basically you get this sort of stuff integrated inside a USB TT - but you are likely to get much better results with your existing...

Re: Thanks for FAQ
Thanks seconded - it's useful to get feedback.
I'm planning to start work in the next few weeks on adding a few more succint FAQs to the 2.0.1 (next release) manual, so when that version gets released the FAQs should be even more useful hopefully.

Re: Envelope for simple fade, seems too hard
If all you need is a "simple" fade why not tey the "Fade In" and "Fade Out" effects?
They are linear fades not logarithmic or curve at all - but they work well and are simple to use.

Re: audio driver to be able to record from within PC
If all else fails consider buying TotalRecorder: http://www.highcriteria.com/ Try as we might we couldn't get my wife's newish laptop to record streaming audio - so following a tip from Koz I got her to buy TR - works well. She uses TR for capture and the rest of her workflow is done in Audacity. Bu...

Re: Sound varies
I suspect he means 2.0 v. 1.2 - in which case LOTS, over two to three years og development and bug-fixing.

Re: simplifying audacity
From the thread title (and content) I assume David means this page from the 2.0.0 "frozen" manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/help/manual/man/simplifying_audacity.html Or this one in the alpha manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Simplifying_Audacity The page is linked to from th...
