Re: Cant export as MP3

The problem here is that the YT tutorials are not made by Audacity folk - they are all users, and as 2.0 has only recently been released thay will have a bit of catching up to do. We do have a set of tutorials in teh manual for 2.0 which are up to date - but thay are written and not videos - see: ht...

Re: iTunes Match and Audacity

When I was burning CDs from vinyl transcriptions I did get about 70% recognition rate in the Gracenote CDDB database when I loaded the CD that I made into iTunes - so I'm guessing that Steve's prediction above is good. Personally I have no intention of putting my music file's into Bill's Apple Cloud...

Re: Cant export as MP3

That was the case in 1.2.x

In 2.0 you do just get Export and Export Multiple - the dialog boxes then give you the opportunity to select the export type from a drop-down.

Re: Recording the "inside" (small-diameter) LP tracks?

"If the cartridge weighs between three and four ounces, adjust..." "between three and four onces.." That's one heck of a cartridge. What sort of turntable is it ... You should see the one on my old early 1950's Bal Ami jukebox (now in my son's ownership) -rather than pla...

Re: Recording the "inside" (small-diameter) LP tracks?

As you correctly observe Regan it's down to the physics and the geometry ... ASIDE: There did used to be some expensive TTs that compensated for this by having a horizontal arm along the radius of the LP and the cart tracked along it mainting alignment. The best you can probably do is to ensure that...

Re: Recording in true stereo 2

Why are you using the RCA plugs as well as the USB - fior a USB TT you would normally just deliver the signal to the PC via USB - and don't use a USB hub with Audacity. But do make sure the RCA plugs are electrically isolated from each other. This set of tutorials from the manual should help you: ht...

Re: Help in other languages

@Steve: you really need to bring this up on the mailing list for the manual if this is to go any further.

I don't think it's appropriate to transfer this as a FR to the Wiki -agree?

Re: Audacity software to be downloaded for HY-2010-TP

If you're using iTunes I wouldn't bother with MP3 and LAME - instead I would opt for Apple's compression format AAC (which size for size and bit-rate for bitrate is generally reckoned to give better sound than MP3). The only reason you might want MP3 is so you can send stuff to folk who don't use iT...
