Or you can use the Selection Toolbar which is normally at the bottom left of the Audacity window. See this page in the manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Selection_Toolbar

But you probably want both methods ... :)

No I think your'e right. I just tested this and when I pressed play (I'm on 2.0.1 alpha) the mixer board minmized. It can be restored obviously. But don't think it should do that so I would think it is a bug. I will flag this up and we''ll see what happens. BTW it also minimizes the mixer when you p...

That bit's easy - you just uncheck the "Snap To box at the bottom left of the Audacity window.

And dont forget the quote that Peter (PGA) uses of mine at the start of this thread, taken somewhat out of context there, was actually in response to a user who had diddled around big-time with their project file contents, rendering it useless. Hence my advice to them going forwards :)
