Re: Backing up and Archiving
I note, Bill, that youv'e added/modified a bit on backup in the generalized Overdubbing tutorial. I'll try to find some time to propogate that change to the four h/w based overdub tutorials that migrated to the Wiki.
Update: done.

Re: Sound card crossfeed ???
Boy do I feel dumb ... Koz, 1) first I tried unplagging the mains lead to the No.2 laptop - "cross-feed" still there 2) then tried moving the laptop closer to the No.1 a bit at a time, no perceived increase in the recorded amplitude on the No.2 - but some odd paks. When I replayed the trac...

Re: Track Contros on Stereo Tracks
You've probably made the tracks too small, drag on the bottom edge to enlarge them.

Re: removal of background noise causing distortion of record
I've usually found that when trying to remove FM-hiss or internet carrier hiss that the default settings for Noise Removal work well - provided one can get a good clean bit of the hiss.

I'd prefer it to be in the Manual - but we could have a link from Wiki>Tipssteve wrote:waxcylinder wrote:It would be a very good one to list in http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Category:Tips
For my money, it's a darn sight more than a tip - it's a modus operandi, a way of life - or it should be ...
