Re: Quality Settings for CD

Just to add my 2c worth here of real world experience. I have transcribed a lot of LPs to digital format with Audacity and burned CDs with a lot of them. I have my Preferences set to 32-bit float 44.1 kHz for capture and editing. For export downsampling to 16-bit 44.1 kHz I have my Preferences set t...

Re: Release schedule

You're right there is no planned schedule and no planned new content for what is in a new release. As this is an open source project manned by volunteers the developers pick and choose what ois of interest to them. There is a Feature Request page on the Wiki: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Featur...

Re: Paste audio at end of soundtrack

And BTW note that your audio is clipping, you have an oversaturated (over-loud) signhal that is banging against the top and bottom of the waveform window at 1/-1 - you really need to choke it back a bit or it will sound horrible.

Re: Recording level query

... I am recording my old vinyl record collection via an Ion iTTUSB turntable and there does not appear to be any means of reducing the output volume on this I sued to have an ION iTTUSB and that did have a gain control but it was in a very unobvious, inconvenient, unergonomic place - underneath at...

Re: Weird Export Problem

I don't think that they can :? If I mute a track in a multi-track project, the track is not heard. That's how it has always worked for me, ever since I started using Audacity (v1.2.6). There was a bug in one of the early 1.3 Betas whereby muted tracks were Exported (but not played in Audacity) - bu...

My persomal mnemonic is K for Kill :geek:
The disadvantage of using Ctrl+C as a pseudo delete is that it replaces whhatever you have on the Audacity pasteboard and you may wish to be retaining that.
