Re: Professional sounding fade out.
Well I never new that bog-standard fade-out worked that way ignoring trailing white space that is selected - you learn a little every day 8-) I note that Cross Fade Out behaves the same way as your pro-fade. Is it worth thinking about changing pro-fade so that it ignores trailing silence? Is this te...

Just tested and can confirm that it works - now set as my standard shorcut for fade-out ( Alt + -> )

Re: Professional sounding fade out.
Most interesting - nice fade :) I just experimented, on 10 seconds of generated sound wave (so I could visually see the shape) with the three fades that I now have: 1) Fade Out: delivers a linear triangular shape which is ok but leaves something to be desired. 2) Cross Fade Out - delivers a bell-end...

Re: Playing LPs faster ?
The short answer is that: 44.1 kHz is the standard for CDs (44.1kHz 16-bit PCM Stereo) 48.0 kHz is the standard for DVDs So if you are planning to produce only CDs and your kit will support 44.1kHz then it is best to stick with that throughout the recording/editing/export process - otherwise you are...

Re: Professional sounding fade out.
Ok - so what shape of fade-out is this then ?
And will one be able to assign a k/b shortcut to it?
Update: oh, and will you be providing a "Professional Fade In" too?
Peter.

Re: Recording multiple LP's
If I was being finnicky I would retain the 32-bit WAV files that I make of the whole LP, store as archive for future use (my current usage is to use this file to process through ClickRepair, re-import into Audacity and then discard). And yes one WAV file per "song" for me - when (and if) I...

And the slightly more complicated answer is that your ears may prefer different devices for different types of music ....

Re: Burning a CD after recording streaming audio
Then burn the CD-R(s). But that leaves you with a pile of old CD-Rs under the seat in the car. I thought the goal was to use one CD-RW and continually update it as new shows came out. It's not a dreadful idea if you have the time and the disks work. And that's why folk connect their iPods up to the...

Re: Recording/BT/guitar/Audacity/ M-Audio Pro
As I understand it, Audacity on Windows (in its "as shipped" form) does not support ASIO. We need a knowledgeable forum elf to confirm or refute this. You understand correct PGA. And it is a licensing issue rather than a technical one - the IPR belongs to Steinberg and Audacity would have...
