Re: INPUT LEVEL TOO HIGH
Well I take my feed from a TT=>phono preamp and that works fine. I now use an ARTcesssories standalone pre-amp, but formerly I used the pre-amp unit from my wife's old Technics stack until it died a death. I feed my preamp to an external soundcard (as I prefer the digital conversion to take place ou...

Re: How to change MP3 bit rate
Although this is not the forum for it, no matter what I have tried, I can not cure the Realtek HD Audio Eaccess Violation problem on my native audio processor. I think it started after some Microsoft update. Searched the net, but no joy for a real solution (it locks up the Line level slider). (WIN ...

Re: INPUT LEVEL TOO HIGH
I note from a web-surf
"The receiver has preamp outputs and main amp inputs for an external amp or an audio equalizer. If you listen to records, the HK 3490 has a moving magnet phono input."
Can you use that output to gert hardware gain control?

Re: INPUT LEVEL TOO HIGH
Doesn't the HK have a gain control to control the oiutput level of the signal? Yes 50% or -6 dB is a good level to ain for. Just touching the top would just about be ok - but I suspect your signal level is exceeding that. Turn on the clipping indicators with View> Show Clipping (and thanks for the n...

Re: restore defaut settings for noise removal
This page in the manual will show you the default settings (our policy in the manual is to show default settings for effects, analyzers and generators) : http://manual.audacityteam.org/help/manual/man/noise_removal.html There is currently no mechanism in Audacity to restore the defaults - but curiuo...

Re: How to change MP3 bit rate
Which rate is pretty close in quality to WAV? 320 is excellent I doubt you would ever hear the difference unless you have very young (female) ears and listen closely on high-end equipment. I use 256 (actually 256 VBR AAC, Apple's lossless format) in my iTunes library - and on high-end QUAD electros...

Re: How Do You Record Tracks on Spotify With Audacity 2.0.0?
In some parts of the world it is not legal to copy music that you "own", even for personal use, though there are ongoing arguments as to whether such laws are "legal". In other countries it may be legal to copy anything you like (though there are ongoing wrangles about that too)...

For the alpha manual I have encased the copyright warning in an Alert template and bolded it - tp drive the message home more clearly.

Re: Recording from cassette deck
Your USB deck should have come with a USB lead (most of them do) with USB connectors at both ends - plug this between your computer and the deck.
Turn the power on on the deck and plug the USB cable before you fire up Audacity.

Re: Problem With Playback of Exported Music Files
Since you are using iTunes and iPod I wouldn't bother exporting MP3. I export WAVs from Audacity (44.1kHz 16-bit stereo PCM - Red Book standard for CDs) then I can either burn CDs with these or import them into iTunes and then use iTunes to convert the WAVs to AAC (you can set iTunes to convert to M...
