Re: tape to CD

normally you'd hook up your rca cables from the cassette player to the rca jacks on the adapter and the usb cable from the adapter to a usb port on your computer... But not in this case - the poster has an integrated tapeplyer/USB device so only the USB cable will be used. photoman's advice holds g...

Re: Cross Fade Classic

Just did a more careful test on the levels, using two 30 second bursts of generated sound wave - sound level remained constant throughout, nic eone :) The shape looks the same as the Pro-fade-out, is it? Does it do the same pro-trickery stuff as PFO or is is just straightford shaped amplitude fades....

To do this one-off click on the Litttle-Black-Downward-Pointing-Triangle in the Track Control Panal to the left of the waveform - you will observe that in this mode the same signal fills the waveform ...

Re: Audacity Fade effects

I don't propose working on the "advanced feature" unless there is definitely a demand because it will be a lot of work sorting out how best to implement it. Just writing to say that it would be possible . How about as a first step writing a proposal in the Wiki with mockup GUI etc. (as th...

Re: Automatically adding track silence

To be honest after working a few albums I think manual is quicker... I totally agree (and I've done hundreds) I place markers with Ctrl+M as the LP is playing and recording in Audacity. I clean up the inter-track gaps to true silence and usually do fades (in and out) to the silence. Often I shorten...
