Re: Recording from tape, speed varies
What I would try first is rewinding the tapes from end-to-end a couple of times first before playing them - this is done to even out the tension . And I would clean the transport mech. of the tape player: the capstan and the rubber pinch-wheel (do not use alcohol or solvent on the rubber pinch-wheel...

Re: Static/distortion in segment of a recording
Interesting Phil - and thanks for posting back. I haven't come across this before. Has anybody else experienced this? If so it may be worth us adding an FAQ in the manual . My newish 64-bit W7 Tosh laptop is set to the default "Balanced" Power Plan - and this does not seem to cause recordi...

Re: Professional sounding fade out.
Can we have consensus about "must have" features? +1 must-have for Pro-fade (or whatever we call it going forward) becoming part of the standard distribution. 8-) This thread has broadened out from its simpler start into a discussion on a "Fade Manager's Workbench" - and useful ...

Re: Trouble with second track
You're nor the first, and you won't be the jast ... 8-) The problem is that there is no propoer visual cue to tell you whether monitoring is on or not. There are a couple of existing feature requests that relate to this: 1) provide a visual cue 2) make it so monitoring is "always on" And t...

If you're exporting everything you can just use the Export command - rather than selecting all and then using Export Selection.

It might be worth looking out for a proper cassette deck in a thrift/charity shop or boot-sale (yard sale) - I'm sure there are many mouldering away...

Re: fixing cassette rip eq
The reason I don't use my other cassette player is that it's a battery-operated walkman and I have something like 100 tapes to rip. I don't want to have to listen to them all to see whether the batteries started dying and slowed down the motors. It's also a 20-year-old device and the 1/8" jack...

Taking the approach of "nothing until it is perfect" has gone nowhere for over 2 years.
