Re: Aide reduction de Bruit et amplification de voix sans pe

As we've said may times to many folk we do not and cannot run a forensic audio service. That is why you have had no responses, we are sorry for your plight but we really can't help you.

Re: Recording an Album.

The link that Steve pointed you at earlier contains the best workflow that I know for getting stuff into iTunes and adjusting the metadata (I wrote the workflow tutorial) - so please read and follow the steps in: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/sample_workflow_for_exporting_to_itunes.html If yo...

Re: Win7: MME /vs/ Windows DirectSound?

Thanks for bringing this up hellosailor - it gave me a useful nudge to update the Manual with the additional insight that Gale gave me earlier in this thread. :) See: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Device_Toolbar http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Devices_Preferences http://manual.audacityteam.o...

Re: Recording an Album.

I send my WAV's to iTunes with just the tracknames and use iTunes as my metadata editor.

Re: Sound track from Youtube

Hardly worth the effort for Patsy Cline - Amazon lists several CDs of hers in the £3.50 to £5 range - this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Simply-Patsy-Cline/dp/B0085B39BS/ref=sr_1_7?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1354728561&sr=1-7 has 40 tracks on 2 CDs for a mere £3.50 - that's about 9p a song. And A...

Re: Newbie Question - Do I need an external ADC?

I realize 24-bit is more than acceptable and used by professionals and audiophiles and that will be what I will exporting for the final versions to be listened to. The only reason I'm interested in saving the master files is 32 bit float is that you would retain the maximum amount of information pe...

Re: Win7: MME /vs/ Windows DirectSound?

I use Windows Direct Sound on my W7 laptop - when I use it to record streaming audio I too find that I have to crank down both the mic and the spejer levels a long way in order to get a sensible input signal level peaking at 50%/-6dB. This seems to have no impact on the quality of the recorded sound...

Re: Newbie Question - Do I need an external ADC?

There is a very good, high end preamp with USB output, and the other elves will tell you what it is. I think Koz is referring to the ARTcessories USB Phono Plus - see: http://artproaudio.com/artcessories/turntable_preamps/product/usb_phono_plus-ps/ For my LP digibitting I run an ARTcessories USB-DJ...

Re: OSX 10.7.5 Audacity 2.0.2 AIFF (Apple) signed 16bit PCM

My recommendation would be to use iTunes to convert them to AAC - Apple's compression format. I use AAC 256 VBR - which to my ageing ears are fairly indistinguishable from CD recordings or the original vinyl played on my hi-fi. If you want to go really mad, up the AAC rate to 320 (only young females...
