Re: What Filter Curve is this?
Adding this detail looks like a lot of developer effort for little real benefit. After all, you may not even want that preset in your next session, and if you do it's only a couple of clicks to re-select it. Adding this looks like just adding an extra parameet: Name=<xxxxx> If a Name exists that ge...

Re: Screen Capture Is A Wonderful Tool
It's also a "wonderful tool" with a rubbish interface and a poor "user experience" - see: Bug 1598 - Enh: Improve GUI for Screenshot Tools https://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1598 and https://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2323 https://bugzilla.audacityte...

Re: Screen Capture Is A Wonderful Tool
Better still would be a user-settable parameter in the Screenshot dialog for the pause length.

Re: What Filter Curve is this?
1. Select a preset -> Name is displayed If either: 2a. Change any Eq setting 2b. Close and relaunch Audacity then -> Name reverts to some default text. "2a" is something we want. "2b" is something that will be hard to avoid, whether we want it or not. I am minded to agree with K...

Re: MP3 Decoding Failed
I looked at this ION turntable for $111 on Amazon and wonder what people think. I started out my LP conversion with an ION iTTUSB - the electronics were fine but the deck itself was poor - the platter was far too light and gave lots of horrible wow and flutter. I junked that and retrieved my record...

Re: how to contribute / German documentation
@SqueezeBoxer. Please see my reply to you regarding the Manual and it's lack of translations in this email https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=114726&p=412505#p412505 I think it could be possible to provide some additional German information in the Wiki which you could write ...

Re: Is audacity.de an official domain from the audacity team?
The problem still exists: audacity.de looks like an official Audacity page and provides an installer for Audacity 2.4.2 bundled with malware. Please write a clear warning on https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/German_Information and on https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/De I can write something abou...

Re: Invalid links in the German wiki
Thanks Steve. @SqueezeBoxer The released Manual does not contain any translated pages. That is a policy decision that we took some years ago as it proved impossible to keep the translations up to date as the application and the attendant documentation changed. Translator folks get all keen and fired...

Re: How do I remove noise from a set of files?
and bonus question: Is it possible to export the resulting files with the "same" quality. Meaning similar/same audio fidelity (disregarding what might be lost from the effect) and similar/same file size? No you will get extra MP3 compression degradation when you then export as MP3 - to mi...

Re: How do I remove noise from a set of files?
While you keep Audacity open and running the latest Noise Profile that you obtained will remain. It will be lost when you close Audacity. What I would suggest is the the create a small project with just your "noise" and save it. Then in future when you are working on Audacity just open thi...
